september 2023 tunes~
This month started off with a MOTHER AND SON HIKE! It was an amazing trail that consisted of bird hunting, marshes, forests, hills, and going on a viewing deck observing over the Kettle Moraine State Forest Delafield Surrounding area, and even Downtown Milwaukee in the distance. It was so nice, I had to take Sammi and Winnie out there! We had an amazing sleepover and feast weekend starring a pasta dish I made with handmade spinach and garlic pasta I bought at the Tosa Farmer's Market, amazing salads and ants on a log Sammi brought, as well as kimchi fried rice and sweets. Sammi and I also watched the new Ninja Turtles movie which was PHENOMENAL and it became a hyper fixation that landed on my manicure.
I also had a weekend where my family visited for Tosa Fest. We enjoyed good foods, vendors, really good Mexican ice creams, and overall a great time together. Once the family returned home, Melo and I chilled, took our usual local hikes, but also visited the Bradford Beach area as well for another mother - son day. Sun bathing, exploring the nearby marinas, journaling and sipping coffee a the nearby Colectivo, Mr. Melo and his mama had a good day >:) Sammi and I made the next day out to a local apple orchard. Holy crap was this place beautiful! Peck & Byshgel know how to organize and keep their grounds clean - felt like I was in some white suburban Christian mom's daydream. I even got a Monday Winnie daycare day - which MELO LOVED.
September was full of me taking random days off to finish up PTO before they expired 9/30, and one of the last days to myself was on a Wednesday where I took myself to a Brazilian café on Brady Street, to the Milwaukee Public Museum, a traumatic trip into the Milwaukee Public Library, and then shoo-ed myself back into the Tosa/Brookfield area... Unfortunately, I was also experiencing terrible digestive issues at this time and landed myself into the ER after a quick Target run with Sammi... We don't know what the hell is wrong with me, but all I know is that I would experience terrible abdominal cramping whenever I ate anything... forcing me into a very strict bland diet that did no one good and a potentially fucked financial situation with medical bills. This was a wakeup call to make sure I am more kind to my body though...
While trying to cope through this medical crap, I became absorbed to Ikemen Sengoku and reconnected with a friend of mine I made at my regular café - Erin! We met up for drinks (mine was water only at the time due to the meds and the tummy), but it was awesome getting to hang out with her outside of work and get to know her more! We had not talked for months and I missed that >< She introduced me to some of her friends too - which I desperately needed because of feeling so isolated.
At the end of the month, Sammi and I had a planned weekend together. We Ate, watched movies, hiked, and overall continued to foster and grow our friendship! I LOVE YOU SAMMI
