quarter 1 2024 tunes~

Taking a different approach this year on the monthly music playlists. We will be doing a quarterly output from whatever music I collect during each quarter of 2024.

This first installment is January, February and March of 2024, each having their own section in this blog post!

In January, I celebrated Sammi's birthday and went honestly on a few dates. It was an interesting bunch, one being someone that lived (unsafely) in China and Latin America while the other was a super shy Polak that vistied by parent's area every weekend. I luckily met really good friends around this time too, HD And Tay along with their little one(s). Suppper kind and super chill :,)

I was going back and forth this month from the Dells area to Milwaukee for various things such as my work holiday party and celebrating Sammi's birthday even more~! I also experimented a lot with my fashion along with my short hair. I was lowkey easily triggered all the time because I felt like all I looked like was an out and shy lesbian (ain't nothing wrong with that, it's just misleading DX) and the way that the hair sit was also so strange. I either had a bowl-ish mullet or this girly crimped hair. Luckily, Melo and I went out a lot for walks to stay sane where I packed myself up to the brim with hoodies, jackets, hats, and scarves.

But DON'T COME AT ME FOR SPEDNING $200 ON TEMU THIS MONTH! I wanted the really cute cookie biscuit floor pillows and when they arrived I was sooooo underwhelmed. Luckily, I got really cute fuzzy bed topper that worked out. Everything else went back to China.

This month, I found out my plants died :,/// I was supposed to go to Milwaukee for a Taylor Swift Party and we had a terrible blizzard that not only cancelled my plans, but froze my plants. WHATEVER. On another note, I retook the NBTI test and now am back to being an ENFJ-T (ie. the protagonist??) and was able to hang out with HD and Tay at an awesome vintage shop~!

In February, was I on dating apps still? Yes. Any better luck? Eh~?

But did I connect with a very likely lesbian woman right after getting my hair "fixed" and drinking self-pour beer by myself? Yes. And did I listen to her months later to join a queer sports team? Yes!

Sammi visited me though for Galentine's weekend at my parent's place, celebrating our friendship as well as our near impending move! Dude, I don't even wanna TELL YOU about the banana margarita pitcher we ordered for the two of us before going into the clubhouse hot tub and pool XD

I also had an amazing paint n' sip experience right before leaving that set the mood: I am the sun. Does this mean some don't like me? Yeah! I also can be too hot on some, but whatever! I got to hang out with the man, the myth and the legend, my friend Evan right before moving as well. Exploring Wazee Lake was very interesting, especially since I wasn't there since the weekend before I left for Fulbright.

I also was NECK DEEP into this amazing Korean drama about ssireum - traditional wrestling, murder mystery, and a classic underdog victory story. I also need to mention that the main character is a grade A himbo loverboy who only wants his childhood best friend back (and she is ;) ). Watch it omg: Like Flowers in Sand.

Please don't ask me "how was my move" because I was flipping shit. Whateverrrr.

I did build a fence out of salvaged pallets tho so our dogs were safely in our yard only.

This month, I also spent like $250 on two piercings that are still to this day, not healed. I hope they work themselves out.

Guuuyssss please stop asking me to tell you about those people I roughly mentioned in February from the dating apps. One decided to double book me, another decided to ghost me, and the third because a bit of a lover but also a hater? It issss what it isssss.

Did I also go on operation remove people from my life that don't deserve my time? Yes. I did exactly that on St. Patty's Day to which I ran into her family like an hour or two later. TERRIBLE! Only because I liked the family ;-; But I gotta say, the owrd of the month is: COWARD!

But did we also have an amazing time at Bianca del Rio's comedy show without the two posers sitting with us? Let's raise a glass and holler "HELL YEAH!"

And did I also convince Sammi we should have our own trip to Europe? YEP.

And so it began, me feeling like I have no money after BLOWING it on stupid shit for months. I coped by going on dates and trying to kindle something with people I felt connections with but ultimately, things fell flat. Luckily, March time was before things went kapoot.

I went to Florida for a work trip and had a suuuuper nice time getting connections and meeting people I have virtually known for years. I also slayed the house down boots by never overdrinking. Did I cry over Mickey Milkovich and Ian? YEP.

After coming back and lying low like a corpse in my house, I had cousin day at the Chicago Botanic Gardens! God damn do I love plants, taking photos, being with my cousins, and eating good food :,,)

March we also had a goal to do a house warming party and it was more or less a success! Polish style food served and mildly awkward interactions with the different social groups all being into one spot gave me the humility and awareness that the one big happy family hopes and dreams I strove for in the past are very unrealistic in actuality. And that is OKAY. But also Zyns are wack.
